SOJOURNERS
Sojourners is a group of retired and semi-retired seniors who are young at heart, mind ,and soul, if not in age. We take monthly day trips to places of interest. These trips include restaurants, plantations, museums and other places we find interesting. We usually leave at about 8:00AM and return by 5:00PM. As an example, the March 2011 trip will be to The Tabasco facility and Jungle Gardens at Avery Island. We will then visit either Shadows on the Teche in New Iberia or Oaklawn Manor in Franklin; depending on time constraints. We will eat at an area restaurant.
For information about this and later trips, contact our coordinator, Linda LeRay, by email: mathmom16@yahoo.com or the church office @(985)447-4287.
Our December trip will be on December 14 to Dickie's Restaurant in Houma. For more information contact Linda LeRay, by email: mathmom16@yahoo.com
On November 16, The Sojourners went to the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge and finished with an enjoyable lunch at The Cabin in Burnside. We are planning a return trip to the museum for spring 2012, when the flowers are in bloom. We'll keep you posted on this and other Sojourner trips.

We volunteered at the Good Samaritan Food Bank
May 16, 2011
Walt, Rap asked me to do a special thanks to "my" group of
people for
showing up and working so hard. I was as proud as if you were my
children--nothing like a bunch of hard working, God loving Methodists to get
things done. What you all did was save the regular volunteers about two
days hard work but wasn't it fun. And my goodness, the special treat of Ms.
Sarah's bread pudding!!
Please post on our site a bit of info about volunteering at the food bank
Tues., Thurs., and /or Sat. 10-2 or whatever you can do and also send out to
Sojourners. Thanks to Fred, Linda, Marial, Jesse, Tina, Walt, Margaret, and
Ms. Sarah. I left at 1PM screaming "Uncle." I couldn't go anymore but I
left with a great feeling. Gloria
